The Catchup News - Music

Image Map
Welcome back Ladies and Gents, after a brief period of "Can't be Fucked"itis we're returning to semi-regular posting*
*When we can be arsed.
Since Beca took the fun part it's left for me to throw together the music news like I have any semblance of an idea what I'm talking about...

No, you're not reading that wrong, that does indeed say "Slipknot Guitarist Mick Thomson Survives Knife Fight with Brother" because you know how it is, you're at home, having a few beers with your family, and "Crazy Uncle Mick" suggests a drunken knife fight - which you immediately say yes to because what normal person wouldn't want to fight THIS GUY?!

Luckily neither brothers were severely injured and escaped with just minor head wounds (Yes, you read that correctly as well.)

Onto a few tours! Warped Tour is back! After cancelling in 2014 the Warped Tour founder, Kevin Lyman confirmed on Twitter that the tour is coming back this year! Any fans of Punk and all its bastard children can rejoice knowing that there's an outlet for our misfit ways again!

Hevyfest announced 15 new bands, including the Fall of Troy! playing their breakout album, 'Doppleganger' in full. This isn't the only 'full album' set getting played at the festival with Coheed and Cambria playing 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3'. Along with these there are a few personal picks in Dillinger Escape Plan, A Wilhelm Scream & Hang the Bastard. Anyone wanting tickets can be led here and in the meantime, here's my favourite track by Fall of Troy - F.C.P Remix (The remix of F.C.P.M.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E.P - Fuck Condoms, Pre Marital Sex Is The Shit, Get 'Em Pregnant, Get 'Em Pregnant, Get 'Em Pregnant! Classy song title)

And finally, Dave "Nicest Man in Rock" Grohl showed no signs of giving up that mantle when he invited Ken Powell, a terminally-ill fan for a VIP meet and greet following the cancellation of them in Australia due to food poisoning. Ken had been seeing the Foo's in Australia for their entire tour but will hopefully see them again in Los Angeles courtesy of Dave's kindness, a donation page for Ken can be found here if any of the 6 loyal readers Nerdpit would like to donate!

That's enough for my catchup week, "You Can't Kill The Metal" will definitely have a post up next week to look forward to, take care til then.
